Filmography
Considered to be one of the most independent filmmakers among others, as well as the most creative and original Mexican film director, Oscar Blancarte has directed 5 feature films, over 10 short films, documentary, TV series and plays.
His films retake in an unusual manner the popular myths and the vision of a chaotic world, in a self-assured tone, free of judgments and above all referring to the directors which nourish him such as Bergman, Fellini, Houston and Gavaldón.
Among his academic activities and using as a foundation the book: The Writer’s Journey, by Vogler; Blancarte has given workshops in different regions of Latin America with his course: The application of myths to the cinematographic script.
He has obtained numerous awards and international recognition for his films, including the award for Best Director at the Ourense International Film Festival, for his film Dulces Compañías (Sweet Companions).
He is currently producing the feature film Crepúsculo Rojo (Red Dawn), from director Carlos González Morantes.
